A First Time Intro Call with Dr. B

We have had a number of Pet Parents interested in our services but are not quite sure if that is the way they want to treat and want to discuss the case with the doctor before making a final decision. We have been trying to find a way to facilitate this but still honor the doctor’s time.

We have decided that the best way to serve everyone is to schedule a short initial discussion time on the phone with Dr. Bernstein to allow you to ask questions, discuss options, in general terms, and see if this is how you want to proceed.  You should send medical records, copies of x-rays (most are digital or you can always take a digital photo of the x-rays on the view screen at the vet), lab work and a history so that we can have an overview of the entire case.

During this phase, we will allocate up to 30 minutes total case time reviewing the information and talking to you so we help you to chart the best course for your specific case and situation. There will a $60 charge to your card (or PayPal or e-check) when we make the appointment and reserve the time. This will be refundable up to 48 hours before the designated appointment time but after that, or with cases that are scheduled sooner, it will not be refundable.  

While we cannot prescribe specific medications, therapeutic techniques or homeopathic remedies at this stage, we help you explore case options,  get our initial opinions on the case and help you decide to become an official client.  If we decide this is a case you and our office want to pursue further, we will have already finished a partial intake so the time spent will not be “wasted” since the following official consultation should be shorter. You will need to sign a different, more comprehensive, authorization when you move into the official client category.

If you are interested in this option, please fill out the regular client information form and Karen will make special arrangements to help you (send a special authorization form, set the appointment on the phone and charge the initial $60).

If, after the intro call, we decide to continue forward with the case, we will schedule a regular appointment or visit and proceed from that point. Depending on the urgency of the situation we might even be able to schedule the standard initial call or visit within 24 hours.
